Privacy Policy

HostelSansar ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Rudra Innovation and Media Tech Ventures Pvt. Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through hostelsansar.com and how we use it.

Information We Collect

When you submit a booking inquiry, contact form, or hostel listing application, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, phone number, email address, and any message you include. We also automatically collect standard analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type) via Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.

How We Use Your Information

Inquiry details you submit are shared directly with the relevant hostel's management team so they can contact you - that is the entire purpose of the inquiry form. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may use your email to send you a confirmation of your inquiry and, if you apply to list a hostel, updates about your application.

Data Retention

We retain inquiry and application records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform and respond to your request, and to maintain records of hostel-owner communications.

If you use the "Tell us what you need" form on the home page, we keep your name, phone number, email address, the city and area you chose and what you are looking for, so our team can contact you and suggest suitable hostels. We do not share this with anyone other than the hostels we suggest to you.

Your Rights & Deleting Your Data

You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Send your request using the phone number or Contact page below, from the same email address or phone number you used. We will delete your inquiries, help requests, messages and waiting-list entries, and remove your name and email from any reviews or comments (the review itself may stay, without your details). We aim to do this within 30 days.

Security

To protect the site from abuse we briefly record your IP address and browser type when you submit forms or sign in, and we may block automated programs that copy our listings.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand how the site is used. It sets analytics cookies on every visit and records anonymous information such as the pages viewed, approximate location and device type. It is not used to identify you personally and is not used for advertising. You can block or delete cookies, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on, through your browser settings.
